Additional Skills & Interests

Aside from my professional experience, I’m also pro-active in the creative arts scene in Dundee, and recently almost single handedly organised the very first annual Scottish Beatles Weekend. This took place on August 12-14th in Dundee, and saw 38 unique events take place in various venues over 3 days, including 14 bands from across the UK and Europe, a Scottish Film Premier, two art exhibitions, various guest speakers and a rooftop concert.

I was responsible for co-ordinating and planning every aspect of the weekend, from the initial concept , to booking all the acts & venues, arranging travel and hotel plans for artists, tech spec and planning, press and PR, the website and social media, ticket sales, scheduling – and many other tasks.

The event was organised in my spare time with no funding, but was heralded as a great success, bringing hundreds of visitors from all over the world to Dundee.

Furthermore, I also play guitar, piano and sing in a Beatles tribute band Revolver. Starting out as a bit of fun in 2008, the band have since gone on to perform all over the UK, Europe and USA at various festivals and events.

I also enjoy playing five-a-side football, live music and most recently gardening. Check oot ma parsnip!
